Boots, bagpipes, and a market under the moonlight

Your locally curated guide to to the best brand-new eats, events, and hidden gems
[Issue #020 | April 10th, 2025]

Good morning, Vegas! We’ve officially reached the part of spring where every weekend feels like a group chat you can’t keep up with—too many plans, not enough time, and at least one event that’ll leave you saying, “Wait, that was this weekend?” As for me, I’ve got no choice this round. There’s a Highland Games in town, so I’m legally and culturally obligated to show up.
The rest of you, however, may have some tougher decisions to make…
👢 Two-steppin’ under the desert sun.
🌺 Island flavors and Sunday vibes.
🖤 Music’s loud. Location’s classified.
Here’s what’s worth your time this week:

Almost time to party…
Boots in the Park
📍 April 11th-12th @ The Desert Breeze Event Center
Boots in the Park is less a concert and more a full-blown country takeover—two days of back-to-back sets from Nashville’s chart-toppers (think Old Dominion, Jordan Davis, Tyler Hubbard), all unfolding under that golden Vegas sun. But the magic here is in the mix: it’s line dancing with strangers, sipping bourbon lemonades while the bass from a surprise DJ set rattles your boots, and stumbling on a smoked brisket sandwich so good you forget who’s even on stage. The crowd skews party-ready but friendly, with just enough fringe and rhinestones to remind you you’re at a festival, not a fairground.
Las Vegas Bluegrass Festival
📍 April 12th @ The Centennial Hills Park Amphitheater
Las Vegas doesn’t exactly scream banjos and mandolins, but for one afternoon in the northwest, it absolutely hums. The Las Vegas Bluegrass Festival brings a full day of live music, shaded lawn hangs, and front-porch energy to Centennial Hills. Expect tight harmonies, fast-picking strings, and a mix of local and touring acts that feel more down-home than downtown. There’s also a folk-art market, a solid spread of food trucks, and a beer tent that doesn’t skimp on the pours. It’s family-friendly, low-key, and totally free.
Las Vegas Celtic Festival & Highland Games
📍 April 12th-13th @ Craig Ranch Park
The kilts are coming, and they’re bringing cabers. The Las Vegas Celtic Festival & Highland Games turns Craig Ranch into a loud, proud, tartan-clad celebration of Scottish culture—with pipe bands, heavy athletics, whisky tastings, and enough bagpipes to rattle your chest cavity. There’s a full slate of events, from traditional dance to stone putting, plus a market full of handmade goods and imported snacks (shortbread highly encouraged). It’s playful, boisterous, and genuinely heartfelt—and as the Scot writing this, I can confirm it’s the real deal.
Good Ol’ Days Music Festival
📍 April 12th @ DTLVEC
The Good Ol’ Days Music Festival is bringing island nostalgia to the middle of downtown, with a lineup straight out of a ‘90s Hawaii mixtape. Acts like Kapena, Ho’onua, and Ten Feet anchor a day packed with feel-good reggae, local food vendors, and plenty of people who still know every word to “Honey Baby.” It’s part concert, part homecoming—an all-ages hang that leans into the laid-back, barefoot energy of the islands without losing that Vegas edge.
Indian Food Festival
📍 April 12th @ Clark County Government Center Amphitheater
After a six-year break, the Vegas Indian Food Festival is back—and it’s bringing the full sensory experience with it. Held downtown, the Mela (gathering) blends sizzling street food, live music, and colorful culture into one packed afternoon. Expect regional specialties from across India, from spiced chaat and tandoori grills to sweet gulab jamun, plus traditional dance, handcrafted jewelry, and henna artists working fast with delicate precision. Come hungry, stay curious.
Puppies & Prosecco
📍 April 12th @ Tivoli Village
Tivoli Village is going to the dogs—and that's a good thing. Puppies & Prosecco brings together adoptable pets from local rescues, live music, and, yes, complimentary bubbly. Stroll through the open-air piazza, meet your potential new best friend, and enjoy the festive atmosphere. With photo ops and plenty of wagging tails, it's a feel-good way to spend an afternoon

Holo Holo Market – April 12th, 11-4pm
Island flavors, live music, and handmade goods come together for a laid-back Sunday at Fergusons Downtown.
Consider the Wildflowers Market – April 11th-13th, 10-5pm
A breezy mix of vintage, handmade, and floral-inspired finds takes over the Lawn at Downtown Summerlin for a weekend of soft colors and slower shopping.
Prevail Marketplace Farmers Market – Sunday, 11-4pm
A feel-good Sunday lineup of fresh produce, handmade goods, and community vibes at Cornerstone Park—plus yoga on the lawn if you’re feeling ambitious.
Spring Nocturnal Market – Friday, 8pm-1am
The Nerd hosts this after-dark bazaar, blending alternative fashion, art, and live performances for a night of unconventional shopping and entertainment.

Trivium & Bullet for My Valentine @ Pearl Concert Theater | April 10th
Trivium does Ascendancy, Bullet does The Poison, and August Burns Red joins the fray—three bands, two classic albums, and one very loud night.
Sullivan King @ DTLVEC | April 11th
The Chaos Will Bring Peace Tour storms Downtown Las Vegas Events Center with Sullivan King's signature fusion of metal and bass, featuring support from Kompany B2B LAYZ, Grabbitz, Benda, and RZRKT.
Oddyssey Noir @ ??? (Area15) | April 12th
A dark carnival warehouse rave where chaos meets bliss, featuring deep techno and house music across two high-energy dance floors. Expect dystopian art, bizarre performers, and unexpected wonders in a labyrinthine space designed to disorient and thrill. Secret location announced day of event
Stella Cole @ The Smith Center | April 11th
Vintage glamour, sharp wit, and a voice made for torch songs—expect jazz standards with style and just the right amount of mischief.
Tiki Luau @ Millenium Fandom Bar | April 12th
Tiki drinks, leis, and island beats take over Millennium FANDOM BAR for a tropical night of cosplay, cocktails, and kitschy good times.
Rauw Alejandro @ T-Mobile Arena | April 11th
The Puerto Rican sensation brings his Cosa Nuestra World Tour to T-Mobile Arena, delivering reggaeton beats and smooth moves that keep the energy high and the crowd moving.

Bar Boheme was an amazing experience! All the staff was polite, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Special shout out to Semaj for making our experience unforgettable. The food was delicious, portion size was good and at a good price! The decor was thought out to the T, it's so beautiful inside. Loved my experience here and would come back :)
K Self Ramen is such a cool new concept and making your own ramen. Super inexpensive, lots and lots and lots of ramen options and toppings to choose from. I mean it doesn't get cheaper and more convenient than this.
Absolutely would recommended and the owner is pretty amazing too. Wishing this new business nothing but the utmost success.
