Your locally curated guide to to the best brand-new eats, events, and hidden gems
[Issue #031 | May 22nd, 2025]

Good morning Vegas! Have we all recovered from EDC? Or at least from sitting in EDC traffic and wondering if this is where we live now? Either way, welcome back—because the story doesn’t stop, so let’s hop to it.

Summer in Vegas doesn’t “ramp up,” it kind of just explodes. One week it’s margaritas on a patio, the next it’s mosh pits, art cars, reggaeton icons, and three festivals stacked on a single Saturday. You don’t always know what’s coming—but you do know it’ll be loud, weird, sweaty, and worth it.

🎳 Punk’s not dead—it’s headlining.
🎧 EDC’s over, but the afterparty’s not.
💃 The king of Latin pop reclaims his throne.

Here’s what’s worth your time this week:

Punk Rock Bowling
📍 5.24-5.26 @ Downtown Las Vegas Event Center
The mosh pit returns to the heart of Vegas as Punk Rock Bowling takes over the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center. This three-day festival features over 30 bands across two stages, including headliners Social Distortion, Peter Hook & The Light, and Cock Sparrer. With no overlapping sets, fans can enjoy every performance. Beyond the music, the event offers late-night club shows, a two-day bowling tournament, and a celebration of the DIY punk spirit.

Mothers Who Inspyr
📍 5.24 @ The Hive Event Studio
Celebrate the incredible moms in your life at the Mothers Who Inspyr event. This afternoon gathering offers a space for connection, creativity, and remembrance. Participants can enjoy delicious bites, sip bubbly, and create custom candles in honor of the mothers who inspire us. It's a heartfelt celebration of joy, reflection, and sisterhood.

Punk Rock Hoedown
📍5.22-5.25 @ Hogs & Heifers Saloon
Forget boot-scootin’ and start moshing. The Punk Rock Hoedown takes over Hogs & Heifers for four nights of loud guitars, rowdy singalongs, and beer-soaked denim. It’s everything you love about Punk Rock Bowling—but with more cowbell and a mechanical bull that might bite back. The lineup leans local, loud, and loud again, with donations at the door going to Punk Rock Saves Lives. This isn’t your average saloon show—it’s a dive-bar revival wrapped in distortion and duct tape.

HAAPI ROOTS
📍 5.25 @ Container Park
Join the celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month at HAAPI ROOTS. This free, family-friendly event showcases performances from 15 different AAPI cultures, culminating in a live concert by Vegas's own ST1. It's a vibrant display of cultural diversity and community spirit.

This community fundraiser at Fergusons brings together food, music, raffles, and real support—with 100% of proceeds going to families in the thick of it. Come hang, donate if you can, and be part of a Vegas-grown effort that’s turning heartbreak into hope.

123 Andrés
📍 5.24 @ East Las Vegas Library
Look, not every show this weekend involves screaming your heart out to a Paramore deep cut. For something a little more wholesome (and slightly less eyeliner), 123 Andrés brings their bilingual, family-friendly magic to the East Las Vegas Library. Expect singing, dancing, and zero mosh pits—just GRAMMY-winning energy and a crowd that probably took naps before arriving.

Ricky Martin Live
📍 9.12-9.13 @ Caesars Palace
Ricky’s back. And if you want to relive peak pop glory with thousands of strangers screaming “She Bangs,” now’s the time to snag your seat. His first Vegas Strip residency in over a decade lands at The Colosseum this fall, and yes, it’s expected to move fast. Latin icon. Intimate venue. No bad seats. Don’t sleep on this one.

Falling In Reverse: God Is A Weapon Tour
📍 9.26 @ PH Live
Local legends turned national headliners, Falling In Reverse are bringing their new tour home, and it’s looking massive. Ronnie Radke and crew hit Planet Hollywood for one night only with full pyro, full volume, and probably at least one onstage meltdown. If post-hardcore anthems and emotional whiplash are your thing, get those tickets now.

Las Vegas Philharmonic: IN MY OWN VOICE
📍 6.21 @ The Smith Center
For one night only, Terry Fator trades comedy clubs for The Smith Center stage—joining the Las Vegas Philharmonic for a one-off concert that blends music, memoir, and a little Vegas magic. It’s not your typical symphony night, and it’s not coming around again. A must for fans of Fator, or anyone curious about the Philharmonic outside of black-tie season.

Last weekend, I finally popped my EDC cherry—and I get it now. Three days under the lights, surrounded by pyrotechnics, soundscapes, and 500,000 other humans dressed like post-apocalyptic butterflies… it’s as surreal as everyone says, and then some. Illenium, Slander, and ATLiens delivered sets so massive they felt interdimensional. It was awe-inspiring. It was exhausting. It was everything.

If you go (and as a local, you should at least once), spring for VIP and Premier Parking if you can. Game-changer. I kicked things off with a pregame at Doberman, which has quietly become one of my favorite new bars downtown. Still no photos allowed inside, and honestly? That’s part of the appeal.

After a weekend of sensory overload, we somehow rallied for MAU 2025—a massive app marketing conference that took over MGM. It’s geared toward developers and growth hackers, but for someone eyeing a Vantage app (👀), it was a goldmine. Also helps that we have a number of friends and former-colleagues in the space. A lot of caffeine, a lot of smart conversations, and just enough vision-board energy to make us feel like we’re onto something big.
