The Vantage LV #35

Theater in bars, raves in warehouses, jazz in the park. Good times everywhere.

Your locally curated guide to to the best brand-new eats, events, and hidden gems
[Issue #035 | June 5th, 2025]

Good morning, Vegas! This week has been a strange one—sky opening up like it’s monsoon season, then snapping right back to triple-digit heat. Still, there’s something nice about the city in this weird in-between. People are out, events are popping, and the mix of energy and unpredictability feels… well, like Vegas.

🎭 115 shows. Zero rules.
🕺 This market has a DJ—and a disco ball.
🎤 Just announced: the lineup everyone will be talking about.

Here’s what’s worth your time this week:

Downtown’s most daring festival is back. Fallout Fringe returns this month with over 115 performances across five venues—Majestic, VTC, Notoriety, Cheapshot, and Cornish Pasty—bringing three weeks of weird, wild, and wonderfully independent theater to the heart of the city. It’s artist-run, locally fueled, and designed to be explored on foot (or bike, or scooter, or however you move through a creative fever dream).

One standout: Knives Knives Knives, a one-act comedy stitched entirely from real Trump speech transcripts. Re-edited and recontextualized by writer Rohit Kumar, the dialogue is delivered by brand-new characters in absurd new settings—where it somehow makes just as much sense (or nonsense) as the original speeches. It’s sharp, strange, and seriously fun.

If you want to see where the next wave of Vegas talent is growing, start here.

The production is expected to provide a significant economic boost to the area.

iHeartRadio Music Festival
📍 T-Mobile Arena | September 19–20

The lineup just dropped for one of the city’s biggest music events of the year. iHeartRadio’s 2025 edition will bring Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, Mariah Carey, Lil Wayne, and Maroon 5 to the T-Mobile Arena this fall, with more names on the way.

We’ve been trying to make the most of Restaurant Week, which continues to be one of the most feel-good ways to dine out in Vegas. With so many spots offering pre-fixe menus, it takes the guesswork out of trying something new, and knowing the proceeds go to a good cause makes it even easier to say yes to dessert.

I also finally made it to Oddyssey Noir at AREA15, and it delivered exactly what I hoped it would. Tucked inside the old Lost Spirits Distillery, the space has been reimagined as a warehouse-style rave with immersive performances, strong DJ sets, and spectacular and spooky interior remodeling. With only one more date announced, it’s unclear if it’ll become a regular thing, but I hope it does—there’s real potential there.

On the way out, we saw Avantgardey, the viral dance group from Japan, casually rehearsing outside before heading in to shoot a new piece. Check it out here to get a glimpse inside this spooky venue:
