Your locally curated guide to to the best brand-new eats, events, and hidden gems
[Issue #042 | June 30th, 2025]

Good morning, Vegas! Somewhere between blasting the AC and whispering “just take me, monsoon season,” we all hit that late-June wall. But while tourists wilt and your HOA melts into silence, the city’s still moving. It’s almost July, and yes, you might be tired, but this week’s still worth rallying for.

🥑 A breezy brunch oasis that feels nothing like the Strip.
📺 The Streaming Giant is just getting Bigger
🎤 From Hanukkah songs to headliners.

Here’s what’s worth your time this week:

Lunakin’s Unique Vibes

Lunakin Café
📍 4300 W Tropicana Ave
Tucked just off Tropicana, Lunakin Café delivers a bright, tropical retreat that feels miles away from the usual Strip crowd. I’m talking fresh greens, lots of plant life, and sun-soaked wood accents, matched with a menu of feel-good brunch standards like avocado toast, chilaquiles, and salmon‑cake benedict, plus a solid coffee to go.

Close Company
📍 The Venetian
The cocktail maestros behind Death & Co have dropped their first West Coast outpost inside Venetian’s swanky Via Via food hall. Close Company keeps that signature craft‑cocktail game strong, with batched and freezer drinks that are simultaneously polished and neighborhood‑cozy.

Velvet Vine Wine
📍 511 S Las Vegas Blvd
Downtown’s newest addition, Velvet Vine, soft‑opened June 23 as a hybrid wine café and floral studio with a plush, 2,500‑sq‑ft lounge vibe. The space blends lush greenery, charcuterie boards, polished pastries, and coffee‑to‑mimosa transitions under one dreamy roof.

Todo Bien: Christmas in July
📍 8533 Rozita Lee Ave
Todo Bien’s tiki‑tequileria is decking the halls early. Starting July 1, the UnCommons hotspot pivots into full-on tropical Christmas, complete with palm‑tree décor, twinkle lights, and festive ornaments. It’s not just the look: there’s a “Christmas in Jalisco” drink served in a festive tree-shaped cup, plus all the tequila, mezcal, and sotol tiki classics you expect. Santa hats optional.

Netflix House
📍 BLVD in 2027
Netflix is planting its third immersive fan experience on the Strip: a permanent Netflix House at BLVD Las Vegas, set to open in 2027. Each location is a massive (100,000+ sq ft) themed playground where visitors can step into worlds like Squid Game, Stranger Things, and ONE PIECE, and grab show-inspired bites at Netflix Bites (already in residence at MGM Grand through early 2026). It’s fandom hospitality that turns binge-watching into an IRL adventure, so obviously Vegas was next.

Revelry Food Fest
📍 September @ Wynn
The culinary spotlight returns to Wynn this September for Revelry, a full-scale food fest from Sept 19–27. This isn’t your usual festival fest, it’s one week packed with global tasting realms, James Beard–worthy collaboration dinners, hands-on masterclasses, and The Feast, a walk-around sensory event on Wynn’s lush Event Pavilion lawn. With Michelin-level chefs and top-tier mixologists converging, it cements our town’s reputation as more than just a gambling hotspot.

First Watch
📍 1020 East Craig Road in 2025
North Las Vegas is getting its first-ever First Watch, opening at 1020 E Craig Rd around July/August 2025. This chef-driven daytime café arrives with a 4,000‑sq‑ft layout, indoor and patio seating, an indoor bar, and a rotating seasonal menu that includes standouts like Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and Million Dollar Bacon. No microwaves, no deep fryers, just fresh-focused brunch done right.

Adam Sandler: You're My Best Friend
📍 November 1 @ Fontainebleau
Comedy heavyweight Adam Sandler brings his fall tour to Las Vegas for two nights at the Fontainebleau’s BleauLive Theater, concluding with a headline performance on November 1. The “You’re My Best Friend” tour is his first since 2023’s sold‑out run and rides the buzz of his upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 release. Tickets available via Live Nation and Ticketmaster hit presales in late June, with general access opening June 27.

ZZ Top
📍 December 3 @ The Venetian
Fiery rock icons ZZ Top roll back into town for the December 3 kickoff of a five-night residency at The Venetian Theatre. Their “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas” tour supports their latest album RAW and Netflix doc, with one-off masterpieces like “Legs” and “Sharp Dressed Man” guaranteed to thrill. It’s a rare chance to see ZZ Top’s legendary riffs live again on our stage.

In This Moment
📍 October 2 @ Palms
Metal theater royalty In This Moment brings their immersive Black Mass tour to the Pearl Concert Theater at Palms on October 2, with opener Dayseeker and support from The Funeral Portrait and DED. Renowned for their high‑concept stagecraft and Maria Brink’s commanding vocals, this lineup is a serious treat for hard‑rock fans. Tickets are live across platforms like Live Nation, Vivid Seats, and AXS.

I heard about Turkey and the Wolf in New Orleans but never made it there so I was glad to hear there's one in Vegas. They were very friendly and efficient. I got the fried bologna sandwich and it was delicious! The crunch of the potato chips in the sandwich really added an extra something to it!
